Kano approves N400m to improve health, environment

Kano state has approved the sum of N452, 178, 656.20 towards the execution of projects in the state’s health and environmental sectors.
The state Commissioner for Information, Youth and Culture, Malam Muhammad Garba, in a statement made available to Blueprint yesterday in Abuja, said the projects, which would gulp N253, 349, 802.40, include flood and erosion control at Zangon Marikita and Garo town in Ungogo and Kabo local government areas of the state.
He said the council also approved the sum of N84, 296, 570. 91 for the provision of equipment and furnishing of Rimin Gado Comprehensive Health Centre; construction of primary healthcare centre at Dorayi-Gabas in Gwale local government; completion of construction work for some structures and rehabilitation at Sharada Primary Healthcare Centre; equipping and furnishing of Getso cottage hospital in Kabo local government.
The commissioner further said that the sum of N21 million was okayed for purchase of Comprehensive Islamic Studies books 1-3 for junior secondary schools in the state.
According to Garba, the council has also approved the sum of N27, 237, 500 for the procurement of the introduced standardised bowls (Mudu) for distribution to the public.
