Kano state government has expressed concern on the slow pace of Garu to Kwanar Yabo Lot 2 farm access road project awarded to Techno Concept Nig. Ltd in Madobi local government area.
The Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, disclosed this when he paid an inspection visit to Kaura Mata Farm access road network project assisted by the World Bank.

Gawuna explained that the construction firm must ensure and consider the standardisation and processes before awarding the contract as well as the completion of the contract on the specified month.
On the other hand, Gawuna commended CGC Nig. Ltd, a Chinese construction firm handling Lot 1 road project, for completing the work ahead of time and enjoined other construction companies handling the road networks to emulate them.
The commissioner, who was accompanied by the permanent secretary and Directors in the ministry, directed the Commercial Agriculture State Steering Committee and the consultants to ensure full compliance with contract specifications with a view to meeting the target.
He also advised H&M Nig Ltd handling Lots 3 and 4 to brace up to ensure that they fully mobilise to the site despite some challenges and meet the deadline of the project.

Gawuna appealed to the benefitting communities to ensure maintenance culture of the project and assured them of government’s resolve to complete the project on schedule.
On his part, the Chairman of Madobi local government area, Alhaji Lurwan Umar Kanwa, who was represented by the Supervisory Councilor for Agriculture, Alhaji Muktar Dahiru Gora, commended the World Bank and the state government for awarding the contract and assured that the benefitting communities would judiciously utilise the infrastructure provided for them in the area.
Speaking on behalf of the communities, the Sarkin Noma of Madobi, Alhaji Haruna Usman Galinja, who also commended the World Bank and the state government for the kind gesture, appealed to the Ganduje administration to provide fertilisers to farmers with a view to boosting their productivity.
