Kano people, Nigerians will vote ADC candidates – Kamsaf

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) House of Representatives candidate for Nasarawa Federal Constituency Kano state, Maryam Mohammad Sani Kamsaf  has  said residents of the state and Nigerians will vote for the party’s candidates because they are credible.

Kamsaf, in an interview with newsmen in Abuja Thursday, also dismissed the claim in some quarters that Kano state is under the grip of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by the incumbent governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.

He also dismissed same claim on the former governor, Rabui Musa Kwankwaso’s New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

She said the people of Kano state were aware that the NNPP and APC are the same, adding that “APC has caused damage to the state and nation.”

“Well,  I want to tell you that Kano people and even Nigerians are not voting based on political parties. What people are considering right now is the quality of the candidates. ADC has credible candidates for all positions, so the people would vote for our party,” she added.

Kamsaf added that “Ganduje being the governor, Kwankwaso being  the godfather of the NNPP doesn’t mean the people are with them. Yes, they are strong politicians, but they don’t own the people’s permanent voters card (PVC) in Kano state.”

She expressed the hope that “Nigerians and Kano people, in particular, want something new, so they will vote ADC candidates because it they don’t have baggage, it gives fresh and young politicians opportunities.”

On whether they have the financial muscles to confront both the APC and NNPP in the 2023 elections, she said ” we are aware of the vote buying, but now, people are determined to do the right thing. They will give them money and they will collect it but you cannot force them to vote for what they don’t want.

“I always advise them yes if they give you, collect it because it is your money. But vote ADC because it is the right party with the best candidates,” she added.

She urged Nigerians to vote for the ADC presidential candidate, Dumebi Kachikwu and all the party’s candidates at all levels.
