Kano Pillars stage a memorial game for Chinedu Udoji

Kano Pillars Football Club of Kano on Tuesday played a memorial game in honour of defender Chinedu Udoji, who died exactly a year ago in a car crash in Kano.

According to Kano Pillars spokesman Idris Malikawa, the club face  a selected side featuring former players of the club at the Sabon Gari Stadium in Kano.

“Both teams will make a donation to the family of the late Udoji,” Malikawa said

The Pillars spokesman said Udoji served the club with his heart until his untimely and painful death.

“Udoji was committed to Kano Pillars, he led by example, and we will continue to remember him and also support the young family he left behind,” he added.

Hard-tackling central defender Udoji played for several years at Enyimba before his sensational transfer to Pillars.
