Kano Re-run: PDP cries foul, calls for cancellation

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kano has called for the cancellation of the on-going re-run election in the state, describing it ‘as a cruel hoax.’

Speaking to newsmen in Kano, the state chairman of PDP, Alhaji Rabiu Sulieman Bichi, said they have reports at hand that some agents of PDP were killed, vehicles burnt, property destroyed in Doguwa, Nassarawa, Minjibir, Dala and Tudun Wada local government areas.

According to him some of the victims of the dastardly attack have sustained various degree of injury including the elected member representing Gwale local government area at Gulu ward in Rimin Gado, Bichi Kibiya Gaya and in majority of polling stations across the state.

“We have instances where the security operatives give cover to these thugs to unleash mayhem on our people within the vicinity of the polling units. Prior to this, several people were nabbed buying PVCs which are being used freely today.

“These with many other infractions made us to completely lose faith in the whole exercise and therefore, call on INEC to cancel this election. Our last resort would be to take legal action, in a situation where the Independent National Electoral Commission go ahead to declare the APC winner of the Kano re-run.
