Kano traders to IPOB: You’re agents of doom

Chairman Galadima Market Traders Association, Alhaji Mustapha Shuaibu Sulaiman has described the of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as agents of doom whose major cardinal thrust was to destablise the nation at the expense of cohesion and national interest.

Speaking to newsmen on IPOB’s sinister design aimed at destroying the unity and one indivisible entity of Nigeria as a sovereign nation at a press conference in Kano Tuesday, Sulaiman stated that the destructive antics of the illegal movement amounts to a declaration of war against the country which he emphasised as a treasonable offence adding they should be considered as traitors under the law

.

He however stated that Nigeria’s unity is sacrosanct and not negotiable under whatever guise and that besmirching the nation’s sovereignty is an abominable crime that should not be treated with kid-gloves affirming that there should be no safe haven for some unpatriotic elements whose intention is to destroy the gains achieved by the country since independence.

Citing the example of the recent vandalisation of two heavily loaded trucks belonging to the Galadima market traders laden with palm oil which were put on fire along with the trucks to buttress his point, Sulaiman said the despicable action has made owners of the trucks and the goods to incur heavy loss running into millions of naira.

He said “as leaders elected to steer the affairs of the market based on trust and confidence, it is an abiding responsibility that lies on our shoulders in a situation we found to be inimical to peace. We prevail on our people not to take the law into their hands as to effect a reprisal attack on goods belonging to the easterners for what was did to our members property.”
