Kano trains over 1200 elected, appointed LG officials in Kaduna

Over 500 elected and appointed local government top functionaries across the 44 local government areas of Kano state are undergoing training workshop on roles and functions of local government administrators in Kaduna state.

Those attending the training workshop being held in Kaduna are elected local government chairmen, vice chairmen, secretaries, directors of Personnel and management, councillors, supervisory councillors, advisers among others from the 44 local government Councils.

Speaking to journalists during the opening ceremony, Friday at Asaa Pyramid in Kaduna, the Permanent Secretary,  Ministry of Local Government, Kano state, Abba Kailani, said the principal purpose of the induction course was to enable the local government administrators know their roles, functions and limits so as to deliver good services to the people.

Kailani said they have brought new, former and retired council administrators, chairmen, councillors and academia to exposed them both to practical and theoretical knowledge and functions of the local government administrators for them to function effectively, commending Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state for supporting the sensitization workshop financially.

Chairman ALGON, Kano state and  Chairman Nasarawa Local Government council, Dr. Lamin Sani, who is also a participant said they’re participating in the workshop to sensitized themselves and learn and know what they need to do in their various council to move the local government and the state forward.
