Kano Varsity, US embassy to collaborate on training Programmes

Culture Officer of the United States (US) Embassy in Nigeria Mr Sterling Tilley,  has said that  the United States Embassy is  ready to collaborate the Kano State University of Science and Technology (KUST) Wudil to facilitate the training of their staff in US.

Tilley made the disclosure Friday when he led a delegation of the embassy on a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Shehu Alhaji-Musa in his office.

According to him the aim of their visit was to see how they can make ways to facilitate on how the academic staff and some of the students of the institution can enjoy a trip to US for research or training.

He added that, “whenever you see the need for our office assistance in terms of facilitating a linkage with any of the US institutions, do not hesitate to inform us, we assured you of all our support”.

Earlier in his welcome address, Prof. Alhaji-Musa said the meeting was a welcomed development for the institution.

He said the institution has recorded significant achievements in terms of staff training and research, adding that the collaboration came at the right time.

Prof. Alhaji-Musa who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration of the University, Prof. Abdulkadir Mohammed said “the university came into existence in 2001 with only faculties, 82 students, 10 academic staff, 14 non-academic staff”.
