Kano\Jigawa Customs command seizes goods worth N346m

As part of its renewed efforts to curtail smuggling activities, the Nigeria Custom Service Kano \ Jigawa state Command has made another break trough when it has apprehended six cars loaded with over 800 bags of 50 kilogram foreign rice and 26 cartons Remix 225ml known as Tramadole street values worth N46million .
Parading the items before reporters over the weekend at his office recently, the Comptroller of the Command, Alhaji Yusuf Abba Kassim.
He stated that another four trucks were nabbed along Kano \Zaria road loaded with homogeneous goods which were locally mad ,but concealed bags of foreign ,rice six cartons of Tramadole and three drums of suck and die known as[ Sodium Chloride] which was dangerous to human life if consumed.
Alhaji Kassim stated the following the draws nearer of ember month, smugglings will increase especially at the boarder posts, assuring that his officers and men were ever ready and equal to the task to face them no matter what ever the consequences.
The Comptroller lamented that Kano and Jigawa states have the highest number of illict drugs consumers adding that they will continue to collaborate with sisters Agencies in tracking down smugglers of those intoxicants.
Alhaji Kassim threfore appealed to the general public to assist their men and officers with important information about illegal routes where smugglers follow to import banned goods into the Country and assured them that any information will be treated with secrecy.
