Kanu becomes Enyimba chairman, Obuh leads Abia Warriors

Former Super Eagles captain Nwankwo Kanu has been appointed new chairman of Nigeria league champions Enyimba, while former Flying Eagles coach Sam Obuh will lead another NPL side Abia Warriors.

The appointments were announced by the newly elected Abia State Government headed by Governor Alex Otti.

Kanu has taken over from Felix Anyansi-Agwu, who headed ‘The People’s Elephant’ for 24 years during which the club won most of their major trophies including two CAF Champions League winners’ medals.

Obuh, a former striker and who has recently been involved with the AS Roma Academy in Abuja has replaced Emeka Inyama as the chairman of Abia Warriors.

Go and conquer the world -Senate President, Akpabio tells Super Scrabble Eagles

The President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Godswill Obot Akpabio has charged members of Team Nigeria to the World Scrabble Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, to make the country proud at the event.

Akpabio who is the Grand Patron of Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF) gave this charge to the team on Tuesday in his office when the Super Scrabble Eagles led by it’s President Engineer Toke Aka paid him a visit.

The Senate President, told the team to be good ambassadors of Nigeria while in the United States for the Championship which runs between the 22nd and 26th of this month in Las Vegas.

The President of the game of words in Nigeria Engineer Toke Aka used the visit to officially inform the Senate President that, a key member of the team, Doko Oluwatimilehin is yet to get his US visa.

Akpabio, immediately reached out to the US embassy, stating that Doko Oluwatimilehin is a young and talented player who will add colour to the World Championship.

“Doko is a future World Champion and an undergraduate pharmacy student of the University of Lagos that Team Nigeria needs at the Championship and he will surely return home to complete his education.” The former Akwa Ibom State governor told the US embassy official on phone.

We gathered that, the US embassy is already making the much needed moves and has requested the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports to send it a covering letter which will be done today.
