Karu DPO moves to tackle phone, bag snatching

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in-charge of Krau, CSP Patrick Akwarandu, has tasked the residents of the area to support community policing, even as he reiterated commitment to tackle phones and bag snatching in the area.
The DPO made this known while commenting on the pro-active measures the division has taken to combat criminal activities adding that, beyond that his officers are ready to respond to distress calls.
The police boss noted that surveillance would be carried out in black spots to include Karu abattoir, Kugbo, Nyanya axis and Muslim cemetery, stressing that the division had arrested five persons in connection with phones and bags snatching.
He solicited the support and cooperation of the residents with a view to chasing criminals in their hide outs explained that crime fighting and control is a collective responsibility just as he enjoined the community to provide logistic support to enable the patrol teams cover the entire area.
The DPO charged Okada riders to abide by the law restricting their operation beyond mid-night noted that the division under his watch would leave no stone unturned to prevent any form of criminality in Karu and its environs.
