Katsina shows class at US world agric expo

The Katsina state government has taken a giant stride in showcasing its agricultural potentials to the world in faraway United States of America at the 2018 World Agric-Expo.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Special Assistant to the state deputy governor on Media, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Kallah and made copy available to newsmen over the weekend in Katsina.
According to him, the state’s delegation to the World Agric-Expo in Tulare, Califonia in US is led by the Deputy Governor QS Mannir Yakubu, who is also the Commissioner for Agriculture.
Kallah said, the World Agric-Expo taking place in Tulare is a gathering of stakeholders from across nations to rub minds on agriculture-related matters with Katsina state making practical inputs.
“The mission of the team is in furtherance of the state administration’s agricultural restoration agenda aimed at revitalising the sector to meet the challenges of a growing and dynamic society of today,” the statement said.
“It is recognised by the present state administration that traditional means of conducting agriculture will no longer suffice, hence the need to open all possible frontiers and within a short span of time, lay the foundation that will serve as the springboard of agricultural revolution in Katsina state.
Kallah was on the opinion that “participating in World Agric-Expo at USA by Katsina team is setting a benchmark for a lofty dream to meet the best the world can offer and give the state the impetus to rise and identify partners and knowledge in the sector of great helpful import.”
He maintained that the expo and the concurrent seminars were also important avenues to sell the state’s potentials in the sector to the world’s stakeholders in agriculture.
