Kaduna state government would this Friday morning distribute over N84 million to the survivors of March 14, 2014, killings in which gunmen killed 148 persons in three villages in Kaura local government area.
Special Adviser on Christian Matters to Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, Rev. Joseph Hayab, disclosed this yesterday in Kaduna.

He said asides the over N84 million, there was an addition of building materials which the government will donate to the survivors as a means of alleviating their needs so as to move into their burnt homes.
He said: “We will give the survivors, over 84 million naira to their next of kin; asides that there are additional building materials that will be handed over to them. This is part of government’s intervention to the unfortunate incident that occurred to our citizens. And we hope they will make good use of them.

“We are going to give those cash to each household and there is nothing like grouping people together, every one of the affected household will collect their monies directly. And it will be them that will decide what they want of their choice. Ours is assistance as a caring and sympathetic government.”

He added that the building materials were separate from the N84 million gesture, saying that “it is different but all parts of government commitment to the people of the area that were affected.”
The government, he added, “is working hard in ensuring that the people of the state are secured and carrying out their activities without being harass or intimidated by trouble makers.”
