Kauru residents decry non completion of road projects

Residents of Kauru Local Government Area in southern part of Kaduna state have decried non completion of township roads project awarded by the state government.

The spokesman of the community, Mr Habila chibi,  stated this in an interview with Journalists during projects monitoring in the area on Tuesday.

He complained that the Project which was awarded long time ago supposed to have been completed was abandoned by the state government as a result of which the people of the area were subjected to various hardships.

Mr Chibi pointed out that the abandoned project had pushed many people of the area to health risk as a result of dust.

Briefing the Journalists on the projects, the Chairman of the Local Government, Mallam Shuaibu Goma, said with the little resources available to his administration with immense support of El-Rufai led administration his council was able to execute some people oriented projects in the local government area.

The chairman represented by the Council Secretary, Mr Joe Noman Chawai said that those projects included town hall, Legislative chambers and electrification of some villages in the area.

He said “Despite the economic situation we are experiencing we are able to execute some projects for the betterment of citizens, those projects include town hall, legislative chambers for our councilors and electrification of some of our rural communities to enjoy democracy dividend.

“We are elected to serve people and we are doing everything possible to serve them as we promised them during our electioneering campaign.”

The LG boss thanked the state government for awarding the township roads projects which was the community prayer for long.

He however, appealed to the state government to expedite action and complete the projects  for betterment of the people of the area.
