Kebbi disburses N30m, clothing to churches

Governor  Abubakar Atiku Bagudu  of Kebbi state has  disbursed the sum of thirty million naira (N30,000,000.00) to Churches in Zuru emirate as part of the contribution by the Kebbi state government to Christians community in Zuru emirate.

A letter addressed to the secretary to the government of Kebbi state and signed on behalf of Christians community in Zuru emirate acknowledging the receipt of the money and other items, one of the Christian youth leaders,  Mr. Ibrahim Bulus said the gesture was seldom, but has a symbolic significance for the unity and oneness of  coexistence of the  people.

He lauded the governor for the gesture, stressing that, the people are optimistic of more and better things as a community from the promising administration of Governor Bagudu.

Speaking in a telephone conversation with Blueprint, Mr. Ibrahim Bulus stated that apart from the thirty million naira, the governor also donated bags of rice and clothing which was shared to local communities in the area.

He stated that the distribution of the money and other items had not recorded any hitches.

Bulus added that it is one of the best things that had ever happened to the people of Zuru emirate, especially the Christian community.

Also in a telephone chat, the zonal Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Rev. James Manga expressed satisfaction over Governor Bagudu’s efforts towards Christian community in the area saying that, it was a relief.

He commanded the governor for the efforts so far,  noted that, people are happy with the government for reaching out to those at the grassroots level.

The cleric pointed out that the Christian community would continue to support Bagudu’s administration to ensure sustenance of the policies and governance.

The CAN Chairman urged philanthropists and other agencies in the state to emulate Governor Bagudu’s gesture and assist the needy to alleviate their sufferings.
