Kebbi international airport calibrated

Preparatory to full flight operations, the Birnin Kebbi International Airport upgraded by the Governor Sa’idu Usman Dakingari’s administration has been calibrated.
A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Muazu Dakingari, said the test flight of ATR 42 calibrating Aircraft from ASECNA Dakar, Senegal, through the Nigerian Airspace Management (NAMA), began last week.
The test flight exercise gave the state airport a pass mark, with a score of 99.8 per cent, which was rated high than in standard and modernised equipments.
It further added that the test flight followed the commissioning of the doppler very high frequency Omni Directional Range (DVCR).
In a related development, the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Dr Bello Haliru, has commended the government of the state, “for the foresight to upgrade the airport to international standard”.
He said the airport would help the state in boosting its economic and social standard, through links with the rest of the world.
