Kebbi PDP Scribe dumps party, joins APC

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kebbi State chapter secretary, Alhaji Muhammadu Sakaba, has jump ship to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The decampee, who was received into the APC along with his teeming supporters by Gov. Atiku Bagudu, said yesterday that he opted to defect from the PDP because he was convinced that President Muhammadu Buhari has done enough to justify a second tenure.

Announcing his defection in Birnin Kebbi, yesterday, the former PDP secretary also disclosed that he was won over by the achievements of Governor Atiku Bagudu.

“I have now defected from PDP to APC due to my belief on the ability of President Muhammadu Buhari and Gov. Atiku Bagudu. They have demonstrated commitments to the progress of the nation and our state respectively within the four years of their leadership.

“My hope now is to rally round them and offer my utmost support and contribution to ensure the sustainability of their progressive agenda,” he said and promised to mobilise his supporters to vote for both to ensure that president Buhari and Governor Bagudu are re-elected in the upcoming elections.

“We will help them also in ensuring that agriculture becomes alternative source of revenue generation in our country,” he said.

In his remarks, Bagudu commended Sakaba for his appreciation of Buhari-APC led administration.

“I know you as a good, honest and straight forward person, who cherishes the unity of our state above personnel interest,” he said and called on well-meaning people of the state to emulate Sakaba in order to move the state forward.
