Kebbi puts 22,000 plots of land on sale

Kebbi state government has said it has earmarked 22,000 plots of land for allocation to people wishing to build houses in the state capital as well as across the 21 local government areas of the state.

In a joint press conference Wednesday by the Commissioner of Land and Housing Alhaji AbubakarSadiq and his counterpart in the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Hassan Muhammad Shalla, prospective buyers need to only follow due process to purchase and acquire land.

They explained that 7000 plots of land had been earmarked for Birnin Kebbi local government, being the state capital; Arugungu,Yauri, and Zuru local government areas were allocated 1,500 each while other local government areas were allocated 535 plots accordingly.

The commissioner added that the allocated lands had been designed into higher, medium and low density as in Birnin Kebbi the capital, lower density is N200,000 per plot, medium is N150,000 while higher density would be sold at N100,000.

He further explained that Arugungu, Yauri, Jega, Zuru, Koko and Kamba have lower, medium and higher density plots and the prices would be N120,000 for lower, N80,000 for medium and N60,000 for higher density plots while other local governments will be N70,000 for lower, N50,000 for medium and N40,000 for higher.

Sadiq stated that the all plots were to have some infrastructure like access roads and identification numbers for easy accessibility, adding that the idea was to minimise the cost of land so that people would be able to own their personal houses.
