Kebbi state government has concluded plans towards the establishment of an independent solar power project that will generate 5,600 megawatts of electricity to the state.
Speaking to journalists in Birnin Kebbi weekend, the former Chief of Staff to the governor and national organizing secretary of APC, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad Argungu, who stated this said machineries has since been put in motion to actualise the project.
He added that the state government has 200 hectares of land to a private investor for the establishment of the project.
Argungu further stated that a team of 30 Canadian technicians are due in the state soon to commence work on the project for an entity known as Equity Electricity.
He indicated that the project would be located at Fakon Sarki in Argungu designed to improve and stabilise electricity supply to all communities in Kebbi state, as well as create job opportunities.
He added that, “Already, the governor has secured the consent of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to set up another transmission station in Kebbi state and to be sited between Argungu and Fakon Sarki as second phase.”
On politics, he stated that for political expediency and election victory, the party would consider Muslim-Muslim ticket in order to triumph at the polls.
