Kebbi trains 10,000 youth on agro-business

At least 10,000 applicants have been earmarked to undergo federal government Agriculture Business Small and Medium Enterprise Investment Schemes (AGMEs) training in Kebbi state.

Addressing journalists Tuesday at the cabinet office, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Babale Umar Yauri said the programme was aimed at reducing poverty and making the youth self-reliant.

He explained in preparedness to that effect, two consultants firms had been engaged for the training of the applicants and efforts would be made to ensure that every applicant benefited from the scheme at the aftermath.

Umar further added that six local government areas had been selected for the training while Moure Consultant and MALPAI Foundation overseen by the wife of the governor, Hajiya Aisha Atiku Bagudu, will handle the training scheme.

The LGAs where the training will take place simultaneously are; Birnin-kebbi, Jega, Argungu, Dakingari, Yauri and Zuru.

However, the two consulting firms engaged by the state government to train applicants; Moure Consultant, will train 8, 000 while MALLPAI Foundation will train 2, 000 applicants.
