KEDCO unveils juicy package for new 1, 500 staff

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), Dr. Jamilu Isiyaku Gwamna, has expressed the readiness of the electricity distribution out-fit to provide a conducive working environment for its newly recruited staff to enhance their capacity and service delivery.
Speaking at the opening of an induction course for its 1,500 newly recruited staff in Kano yesterday, Gwamna said motivation was key to sustaining the productivity and efficiency of staff working in an organisation like KEDCO, adding that they were employed to man the areas KEDCO’s presence was totally lacking.
According to him, the induction course was introduced to serve as an impetus to the newly recruited staff to comprehend the core values of the electricity distribution out-fit which was paying good attention to the virtues of honesty, integrity and respect for customers’ needs in line with the ethics governing the conduct of their responsibility.

He said KEDCO had become a leading pace-setter on providing employment to 1, 500 unemployed youths, including men and women, and those who for one reason or another left their jobs to join KEDCO,  stressing that only few organisations “can take the gauntlet in offering employment  at the time of the  prevailing economic crunch in the country.”
He said: “We won’t tolerate indolence and negligence of duty under whatever guise. You should know that the company has reposed some considerable confidence in you and you are expected to buckle up to meet our expectations.
“Customers’ intimacy and revenue generation were part of our major cardinal thrust and you are expected to complement our effort in sustaining the tempo for the benefit of all of us. We want our customer to be convinced in comprehending the fact that they have an obligation to pay for the services they were enjoying.”
