The redemption 2019 campaign organization has reacted to allegations making the round bothering on some postulations that Pastor Keniebi Okoko one of the aspirants in the November 16 governorship election of Bayelsa state is too young to lead the state.

In a statement issued in Yenagoa    and signed by the chairman and secretary of the media team,  Tei Zion Ebimotimin and Famous Famous, the group said ordinarily,  “they  would not have joined issues with the group peddling these rumours  stating that they were  compelled to debunk them and set the record straight.”

The statement reads in parts : “In the first place, it is pertinent for every Bayelsan to note that the not too young to run  bill has been passed into law by president Muhammadu Buhari which is now operational across the country.

“In view of this, we therefore state here that the passage of this all important bill into law has rendered the allegations that Keniebi Okoko is too young to be at the helms of affairs of Bayelsa state is completely impotent, should be disregarded and thrown into the trash can. The allegation should be seen as a calculated ploy to not only smear the image of Keniebi Okoko who is an entrepreneur per excellence but also to put him  in a bad light by enemies of progress in the state.

“On the issue that the guber hopeful is not on ground politically, it is equally imperative to assert that Keniebi Okoko has contributed immensely to the stability of PDP both at the nats ional and state levels which is visible to all party faithful across the country. In the same vein, Keniebi Okoko who is an unparalleled philanthropist was personally involved in providing relief materials to the 2018 flood victims across the state.

“He also gave enough gift items to a cross section of Bayelsans during the 2018 Christmas and new year celebration. These gestures are enough evidence that Keniebi Okoko has been on ground relating and attending to the needs of Bayelsans.

“At that juncture, we are therefore obliged to state categorically that Bayelsans should not  only dismiss these allegations with ordinary wave of the hands but should also see them as a fruitless attempt to tarnish the hard earned reputation that Keniebi Okoko has built over the years” the statement read.
