Keshi laments Dike’s injury

Nigeria’s chief coach, Stephen Keshi, has lamented the injury that has ruled out Bright Dike from this summer’s World Cup Finals.
The Toronto FC striker injured his Achilles tendon during training with his club earlier in the month.
The player has gone on to have a successful surgery, but is not expected to recover before the Mundial.

“Yes it is regrettable that the young lad will not be part of the Eagles at the World Cup Finals,” Keshi said on Monday.
“We had hoped to have Dike because he is a very resourceful player, but there is nothing we can do about that now because he will need about four months to recover fully and that will not be before the World Cup.
“But he is still a young player and will have another opportunity to serve his country,” he added.
The player was listed in the 23-man squad invited to face Mexico in an international friendly on March 5
