Killings: Group urges FG intervention in Anambra community


Igbo National Council (INC), a social cultural Igbo group, has condemned the recent upheaval at Oraifite, Ekwusigo LGA of Anambra state which led to loss of lives and property including cops.
Blueprint recalled that the incident allegedly occurred on Monday when the police and other security personnel went to arrest Barr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the lawyer to leaders of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.


INC, in a press release signed by its National President and Secretary, Mr Chilos Godsent and Zulu Ofoelu, described it as a total dismal and a malicious mischief, and urged Federal government to intervene to forestall multiplication of Internally Displaced Persons (IDP).  
“While we condole with the families of the two men of the Nigerian Police Force that was said to have lost their lives during the attack, according to a release from SP Haruna Mohammed – PPRO of Anambra State Police Command.


“We also condemn in strong terms the unprofessional, reckless and wanton killing of civilians and burning of houses in Oraifite community during said attempt to arrest Barr Ifeanyi Ejiofor,” the group said.
It urged the Police Force and other security agencies operating in the South East and South South to “stop forthwith the killings of armless civilians and the militarization of the Eastern Nigeria.”
