Kogi: APC female aspirant promises to unite people

A Kogi state governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) Rukayat Ibrahim said that she has plans to promote unity and women development in the state, if elected governor in the November 16 governorship poll.

Mrs Ibrahim, a former women leader in the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), said this at a news conference Wednesday shortly after picking her expression of interest and nomination forms at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.

The aspirant, who bought the form at the sum of N11.25 million to participate in the primaries for the selection of the party’s flag bearer for November 16 poll, said among others that her mission is to rescue and reposition the state for productivity.

“I am on a rescue mission. Please join me in this race to save our state from the governance. I’m contesting because I want to be the voice of women, unite all the tribes in the state and change it for the better,” Ibrahim said.

She said if given the opportunity to serve, she would strive to form an all-inclusive government that would cater for the interest of all irrespective of tribe and religious affiliation.
