Kogi : APC Kabba-Bunu adopts Olowodola as political leader

He said: “Members and stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kabba-Bunu local government area of Kogi state have unanimously adopted Chief Benjamin Olowodola as their political leader thirteen years after the death of   Olorunfemi, a political icon of the area.

“The adoption of Olowodola  was sequel to a  meeting of APC political stakeholders held  in Kabba, the headquarters of Kabba-Bunu local government area on Monday.”
Speaking at the meeting, the vice chairman of APC in the local government, Chief Oloniyo , said the adoption was borne out of Chief  Olowodola’s commitment towards the  development and progress of the people.

He stated that the  political history of Owe people cannot  be well captured without a glaring and repeated mention of the life and time of late  Steve Olorunfemi.

“The time has come to adopt an individual as a rallying point and political leader and it is apparent  that the  absence of a unifying factor generally adopted as a political leader has been a bane of expected political progress and in view of the political reality.

“It became important to adopt the man who has been a burden bearer, shoulder at a time of political and communal confusion and a truly unifying person to lead the community on the political front,” he said.

In his acceptance speech ,  Elder Olowodola said that  he has been supporting APC in his little ways since 2014 having been dragged into partisan politics by his people.

He added that his role was  to unite his people to support the government in power to bring development to the local government.

While commending  Governor Yahaya Bello  for his renewed focus and  leadership , he  assured that the entire people of Owe would support the government to succeed in its second term.

Those who attended the meeting were  party executives at ward and local government level, retired Assistant Comptroller General of Customs, Elder Jimmy Olumidi,  former Permanent Secretary, Elder Steve Makun, Lagos based businessman, Elder Ayodele Adeniyi, Colonel Yomi Dare (rtd), former member Kogi state House of Assembly and immediate past special adviser to the governor,  Jethro Funsho Oni.

Others are Ade Olamife, former Kogi west senatorial candidate, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi, Chief Julius Arokoyo, Chief Ajibade,  Fred Aiyenale, Segun Olorunpomi, Hajia Rekiya Alfa and  many political leaders of APC in Kabba.
