Kogi, Bayelsa: 11,850 pvcs collected in two weeks – INEC

  Ahead of November 16 governorship elections in Bayelsa and Kogi states, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released progress report in the number of permanent voter cards (PVCs) collected in two weeks in both states as at September 13, 2019.


In a statement Thursday night, the commission said a total of 11,850 PVCs have been collected in both states since the commencement of the exercise on September 2.
It further stated that 206,543 PVCs were yet to be collected in both states. 
A breakdown of this showed that Bayelsa has collected a total of 6,581 collected PVCs while a total number of 40,912 were yet to be collected.


In Kogi state, 5,269 pvcs have been collected while citizens of the state were yet to collect a total of 165,631 pvcs. 
Collection of Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) by eligible voters for the Bayelsa and Kogi governorship elections scheduled for 16th Nov 2019 commenced on September 2nd.
INEC therefore said this was the progress report for the first two weeks of the exercise. 


It however noted that collection of PVCs will continue till 30th September.
The commission therefore appealed to all eligible voters in Bayelsa and Kogi States who have not collected their PVCs to do so before the deadline.
