Kogi Central declares support for Bello’s 2nd term

The people of Kogi central senatorial district have resolved to support the re-election of Governor Yahaya Bello’s in the November 16 governorship election.

The resolution was made at the extra ordinary quarterly meeting of Ebira People’s Association (EPA) held in Okene the headquarters of Kogi central senatorial district on Sunday.

The EPA national president,  Dr Abdulrahman Adeiza , who presented the decision of Ebira people ahead of the governorship election, said the district have passed through  undue marginalisation before the coming on board of the present administration in the state.

He noted that Governor Bello, in terms of experience and achievements, has surpassed other candidates especially in the areas of peace, security, infrastructural development across the state.

Dr Adeiza added that the governor’s empowerment programme, health and road construction have improve the lives of the people.

Therefore, he called on the people to support the re-election of Governor Yahaya Bello to enable him consolidate on the good legacies.

The Ohi of Okene/Okengwe district Alhaji Yakubu Yusuf , who spoke on behalf of other traditional rulers at the occasion, urged Ebira people to unite for the purpose peace in the district.

He advised Ebira people who are yet to collect their permanent voter’s card to do so to avoid being disfranchised during the forthcoming governorship election.

The highpoint of the congress meeting was the unanimous declaration of support for Governor Yahaya Bello’s second term bid.


Reacting, the Director General of Information/ Grassroots Mobilization, Alhaji Abdulkareem Abdulmalik, described the outcome of the meeting as a good development.
He then likened their endorsement of Governor Yahaya Bello to a prophet that is loved both at home and outside.
