Kogi community seeks sustenance of free medical programme

Ejuku community in Yagba-east local government area of Kogi state has urged the state government to sustain the free medical treatment it had taken to their doorsteps.
The paramount ruler of Ejuku land, Obe Samuel Adetiba, who made the call while commending the Governor Idris Wada-led administration in a chat with newsmen at the venue of the free medical treatment in Ejuku, said the programme had brought succour and relief to his people, “particularly those who cannot afford to pay the high hospital bills.”

He said: “We have never had such opportunity in this land. Many administrations have come and gone, but none prioritised health the way and manner the present administration did. I am strongly appealing to the governor to sustain this laudable programme initiated to help the downtrodden in the rural communities.”

“I know many people who have been living with cataract, goiter and hernia, because of their poor financial status they cannot go for medical operation. I am glad that these people had been relief of their plight through this laudable programme.”

Also, in Enabo community in Ankpa local government area, over 2, 031 patients were treated of different ailments, while 71 had free surgeries.
Musa Adejo, one of the beneficiaries of the programme, said he had been battling with hernia for eight years, stressing that he had virtually lost hope when the Wada-led administration brought the programme “to wipe our sorrows.”
