Kogi east NYCN vows to advance Igala cause

The members of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Kogi east Wednesday unanimously resolved to work together as one indivisible entity to restore peace in the council.

They also resolved to advance the cause of Igala ethnic group in Kogi state.
This was contained in a communique issued at the end of a meeting of stakeholders of the council held at Itobe in Ofu local government area of the state.


The communique signed by the zonal chairman, Kogi east, Comrade Pete Amodu, and made available to newsmen Thursday, stated that the group agreed that the unity and peace among Kogi east youth are paramount and above every self and individual interest, adding that they remained committed to it without sentiment.
The communiqué read in part: “The stakeholders believe that consensus is a tool for unification and not alien to the NYCN, Kogi state, as it was used by the other Senatorial districts when they resolved the issue of chairmanship during state the congress.
“Consultation by the aspirants and interface with a set committee continues till Friday 9th July, 2021 before the meeting scheduled to hold Saturday 10th July, 2021.’’


The communique also expressed appreciation to Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, and his deputy, Edward Onoja, for carving a niche for Kogi youth in governance.


“Therefore we once again pass a vote of confidence on their dynamic leadership. We also appreciated the effort of Chief Edward Onoja for his early intervention that has given direction to the zone on the coming congress and we are not at variance with his advice,” the communiqué said.
