Kogi: Ex- labour minister backs Bello for second term

Members and supporters of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi state have been charged to ensure overwhelming victory for the party’s candidate, Alhaji Yahaya Bello in the November 16 governorship election.

The immediate past Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Professor Stephen Ocheni who gave the charge Sunday in Lokoja while interacting with journalists, described the just concluded governorship primary election of APC as peaceful and orderly.

Professor Ocheni said the emergence of Bello as the standard bearer of APC through landslide victory was an indication of his wide popularity and acceptability.

The former minister stated that the victory is well deserved in view of the governor’s performance and humane disposition.

He enjoined members and stakeholders of the party across the state to embark on massive campaign to enable the party emerge victorious in the coming election so as to sustain the tempo of development going on in the state.

The former minister applauded the delegates and stakeholders of APC from Igalamela/Odolu local government for identifying with the political aspirations of Bello.
