Kogi: Gov aspirant promises to end youth’s restiveness

A governorship aspirant of the Action Alliance (AA) in the forthcoming election in Kogi state, Dr Samuel Audu Alfa, has promised to harness the state natural resources in building industries to create jobs and reduce youth restiveness in the state.  

Audu Alfa made the promise while picking his governorship nomination form at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.  

Alfa, who described Kogi state as a very rich in abundant natural resources expressed concern that the resources had not been effectively tapped for the development of the state.  

He said if elected in the November’s governorship election, he would use his wealth of knowledge to reposition the state for greatness.  

According to him, construction of road infrastructure and state of the heart health facility would be given adequate attention to improve the wellbeing of the people.

Alfa stated that computers would be provided in schools towards developing education and empower the youths for future challenges.  

The AA governorship aspirant also explained that necessary empowerment programmes would also be put in place to reduce unemployment and poverty in the state. 

He equally pledged to ensure regular payment of salaries to workers and initiate welfare packages that would boost their productivity.  

Earlier, the national chairman of Action Alliance, Chief Kenneth Udeze, said arrangements had already been concluded for the conduct of the party’s primary election in August for the Kogi and Bayelsa states governorship elections.  

According to Chief Kenneth Udeze, screening for the governorship aspirants would be conducted before the end of the month. 

While expressing optimism that the party would emerge victorious in the governorship elections,  the AA national chairman appealed to people of Kogi and Bayelsa states to come out en mass during the polls.
