Kogi state government yesterday refuted the rumour mills going round that the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello is either hospitalised or incapacitated. In a statement signed by the Director General, Media and Publicity, Mr Kingsley Fanwo and made available to newsmen in Lokoja yesterday, government explained that Governor Bello indeed missed step last Friday, March 30, 2018 while alighting from a vehicle along old market road in Lokoja the state capital and injured his left foot.
Fanwo, however, added that the governor had since been treated by his doctors, who bandaged the leg and discharged him immediately.
While appreciating the governor’s supporters and wellwishers, the statement noted that Bello has been responding to treatment and will be at work as usual after the Easter holidays.
