Kogi gov’s security aides allegedly attack publisher in Abuja

Publisher of AljazirahNigeria Newspapers, Comrade Bassey Etuk Williams has been allegedly attacked by men identified as security aides to the Governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello.

The ugly incident which allegedly happened at about 7.30pm on Friday night took place in Abuja without Williams provoking the governor’s aides.

An eyewitness who pleaded anonymity while speaking about the occurrence said governor Bello and his men blocked Williams from accessing his residence at No. 12, Benghazzi Street, Wuse zone 4 in Abuja, with their cars.

Governor Bello’s security aides allegedly attacked Williams as soon as he questioned why an innocent citizen should be denied access to his residence.

Beside the attack, Williams’ life was allegedly threatened by Bello’s men who said they have their boss’s backing to deal with him.

As at the time of filing this report, Williams whereabouts was not known owing to the threat on his life by Governor Bello’s men.

However, Williams has reportedly lodged complain in Police Station and has vowed to challenge the assault by governor Bello’s men in the court.

Effort to speak to any of the governor’s close associates or aides proved abortive as at the time of filling this report.
