Kogi govt to immortalise late Adesanmi

The Commissioner for Education Science and Technology in Kogi state Rosemary Osikoya has assured that late Professor Pius Adesanmi would be honoured in sections of its libraries for his works while he was alive.

Hon Osikoya who gave the assurance at a tribute night in honour of Prof. Pius Adesanmi organised by the Isanlu Community Development Initiative on Friday in Abuja said the Late Adesanmi is immortalised in his writings and publications.

Adesanmi was among passenger that died in the ill-fated Ethiopian plane crash over a fortnight ago.

According Osikoya such stars is very rare, unique in the ideologies of espouse, icons of hope blazing the trail, rebasing benchmarks, lighting the path for others to tread and giving succour for dignity and development.

 She described the late Prof as a renowned scholar, brother, colleague, teacher, mentor, coach, adviser, friend and a very important stakeholder of no mean reputation.

Also, the Agbana of Isanlu in Yagba East local government area of Kogi state Oba Moses Babatunde  while eulogising the late Prof. Pius Adesanmi said the death was pathetic, unfortunate to Nigeria because they have lost of a rare gem.

 He said the exit of intellectual icon was gifted with a writing spirit, uncommon courage, doggedness, patriotism and intellectualism deserve immortalisation.

Late Pius Adesanmi , 47 was a native of Isanlu, in Yagba East local government area of Kogi state was among Ethiopian Airlines that crashed, killing 149 passengers and eight crew members aboard shortly after leaving Addis Ababa for Nairobi in Kenya.
