Kogi guber: Group declares support for Gov Bello

A group under the aegis of Good Leadership Forum (GLF) has declared its support for the second term bid of Governor Yahaya Bello, saying his achievements in security, youth empowerment, education and agriculture need to be consolidated.
The group, who stated this after their meeting with stakeholders at Nagazi in Adavi local government area of Kogi state Sunday said Governor Bello’s effort in tackling security challenges in the state was second to none since the creation of Kogi state 28 years ago.

Accordingly, the group spokesman, Mallam  Abdulrahim Tijani Oguna, said the November 16 governorship election should be used to return Bello to office so that he could complete the projects already initiated by his administration.

The group said four years is far from enough for a governor with the interest of his people at heart to complete the many life-impacting projects on ground, stressing that he deserves another term of four years to accomplish his laudable programmes for the state.

“The governor, who prioritises safety of lives and property, is not only interested in infrastructural development in the state but considers lives very important and sacred.

“He has succeeded in putting up strategic measures in place to combate crimes and other social vices by establishing a well-structured intelligence gathering mechanism, as well as created the needed synergy among the security agencies in the state for effective and intelligence sharing.

In the area of Agriculture, Oguna said, Kogi state is doing very well, citing the Omi Rice Farm and Ejiba Confluence Rice Mill as areas where the government has invested to ensure food security in the state.

He added that the proposed establishment of cashew and oil palm processing factories will provide more jobs and boost the state’s internally generated revenue as well.

The forum leader, who recalled that his group had similarly committed resources and strength in 2015 primary election of the governor, noted that after the emergence of Governor Bello was not given any consideration.

“People like Alhaji Kabiru Onyene, Omade Isah, who are closed to the governor can attested to our effort in 2015 electioneering campaign process”

He called on the people of the state to give their support and ensure that the governor is returned elected in November 2019.
