Kogi guber race: Commissioners, SAs dump gov Bello, back Yahaya Audu

A front-line gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of  the All Progressive Congress (APC), in Kogi State, Prince Yahaya Audu, has gathered more support as some political appointees in the cabinet of Governor Yahaya Bello have decided to dump the governor and join Prince Audu.

Prince Audu is one of the younger brother of the former governor of Kogi State, late Prince Abubakar Audu.

Already, about six Commissioners and ten Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants are set to join the moving train of Prince Yahaya Audu who is ready to restore the lost glory of the state.

Prince Audu contested for Kogi East Senatorial election under the platform of APC in the last general election.

However, all the aspirants from the state that continued in various elective positions in 2019 general election have endorsed him as their sole candidate for the 2019 Kogi State Governorship election.

Also, one of the Senior Special Assistant on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Suleiman Abdulmalik tendered his resignation letter.

According to source, the reason given was the failure of the governor to pay workers and pensioners in the state and also hardship faced by some of the appointees who could not cope with the suffering of non payment salaries and other entitlement.

Last month , the administrator of Lokoja local government council, Alhaji Ashiru Lawal, and Special Adviser to the Governor on Multilateral and Donor Agency Hon. Ibrahim Adoga were both relieved of there post by the governor.
