Kogi guber: US-based medical Doctor emerges AA governorship candidate

Ahead of governorship election in Kogi state slated for November 16 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Action Alliance on Saturday unanimously adopted a United State-based medical practitioner, Samuel Audy Alfa as its candidate 

At the moment, the party is the third after Mega Party Nigeria (MNP) and African Action Congress (AAC)  to conduct its primary while Alfa was the sole aspirant.

The primary which took place in Lokoja , Kogi state capital, had a total of 96 delegates accredited out of 105 all of which unanimously through voice vote adopted Alfa without a dissenting votes.

Alfa was nominated by Yakubu Yahaya from Igalamela Odolu local government and seconded by Hon. Felix after which a voice vote was put across to the delegates.

The exercise was held in the presence Mr Apeh Andrew and Joseph Samuel the representatives from the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Speaking shortly after his   adoption, Alfa said that his major task was to work tirelessly towards alleviating the suffering of workers and pensioners.

According to him “You will agree with me that there are lots of challenges facing the state, I can not do it alone, I will need everyone’s support and the task of rebuilding Kogi to the state of our dream starts now.

“The people of Kogi state  have suffered enough and this is the time we join force together to salvage them from the hands of oppression”  

Earlier the National Secretary of the party, Vernimbe James, who was the chairman of the electoral committee had called on delegates present to be open-minded and vote according to their conscience.
