Kogi police command parades 36 suspects

Kogi State Police Command on Tuesday paraded 36 vicious and notorious criminal suspects who specialised in kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism as well as those in possession of substance believed to be Indian helm.

Parading the suspects at the command headquarters in Lokoja ,  the state  Commissioner of Police  Mr Hakeem Busari said the comprehensive crime prevention and control strategies adopted by the Operation Puff Adder through intensive patrol , raids of identified criminal hideouts, black sports, conduct of stop and search across the state led to the arrest of the suspected  criminals terrorising the innocent people.

According to him, John Okonkwo and Lawal Gambo are arrested for kidnapped following a report by one Blessing Ogbu who complained to the police that her husband was kidnapped and the abductors were demanding for N10 million .

The Commissioner added that operative of Operation Puff  Adder promptly swung into action and arrested one of the kidnappers John Okonkwo who gave a useful information that led to the arrest of the second suspect.

Also paraded for kidnapping are Suleiman Usman, Usman Abubakar, Aliyo Abdullahi, Kayode Oloruntoba and Kayode Rufus.

Busari explained that the troops deployed to Apata area of Lokoja through an intelligence led operation, arrested the five suspects who kidnapped Matthew Peter at Oyo Palace .

He noted that during identification parade, the victim identified Suleiman Usman as one of the gang members that kidnapped him.

Another kidnap gang group paraded are Musa Ismaila alias Bature , Muhammed Bingiri, Abubakar Yahaya and Umaru Bingiri, they were arrested in connection with the kidnapped of the Ardo Gegu.

The Commissioner of Police also paraded Uche Shigaba, Huluba Wallah, Dauda Zhinsu, idoko Kizito, Ahmed Bello Usman, Adekwu Cosmos, Nda Iliyasu , Alhassan Samson, Lawal Abdulrahman.

Others are Mohammed Lawali, Shehu Mohammed were arrested at different locations across Kogi state for armed robbery.

Parading Shehu Alhaji Oro for kidnapping and cattle rustling, the Police Commissioner said the suspect was arrested by Fulani vigilante group at Ofere in Kabba Bunu local government area of Kogi state , saying during interrogation the suspect confessed to be a member of a notorious gang of kidnappers and cattle rustlers operating at Udege village in Nasarawa state .
