Kogi ready for league action

Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Kogi United, have confirmed to supersport.com their readiness to fight for one of the two Premier League tickets this term in the NNL.

United captain, Afolabi Abiodun, disclosed that his team had gathered the needed swagger under head coach Fatai Osho, and are ready to soar when the hostilities begin next week.
“We are fully ready to play the league now and with the spirit in me and my teammates, I believe we have a chance to get a promotion ticket.

“The management are fully there for us and they are keeping us in better condition, the coaches are also there for us technically, and our job now is to pay them pack with good game and impressive results,” Abiodun said.
The former AS Madana FC of Niger Republic added that he rejected offers from top clubs in the NPFL this year so as to enable him to lead Kogi United to the top flight.

“Yes, I had opportunity to join one of the Premier League club, but I turned them down because I want to help this team to the Premier League and also to gain more experience under our new coaches and I believe with God on our side, we would achieve our aims,” he said.
Kogi United will face Ranchers Bees of Kaduna at home next week Saturday in their first match this time in the National League.
