Kogi rural communities to benefit from 2019 World bank intervention




Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency has said the agency would focus on seven Local Government Areas (LGAs) such as Okehi, Kogi, Olamaboro, Ibaji, Okene, Ajaokuta and Ijumu.


The LGAs will benefit from rural road, school building, water provision, market, skills centre among others.

The General Manager of the Agency, Mallam Momoh Dauda, who disclosed this to newsmen in Lokoja on Tuesday, said the agency has commenced the process of empowering rural communities through increased access to rural infrastructure.

“The agency will use the community driven development approached  like expression of interest, participatory rural appraisal, field appraisal among others,” he said .

He said the agency has continued its engagement with the rural population in the state towards the 2019 intervention, stressing that the main thrust of the agency’s mandate is the implementation of community and social development projects aimed at reducing poverty amongst rural dwellers.  

While appreciating World Bank and the FPSU for its partnership, Mallam Dauda praised the effort of the Kogi state government under the leadership of governor Yahaya Bello for creating enabling environment for  partnership to thrive. 

He stated that the CSDP is the most impactful intervention project of the World Bank.
