Kogi SIP trains workers on ethical conduct

The Kogi state Social Investment Programme (Kogi-SIP) has educated its workers on the need to imbibe ethical conducts in order to enhance their level of accountability and productivity.

In his remarks after two-day training for staff of Kogi SIP on Wednesday in Lokoja, the SIP focal person, Mr. Abdulkareem Onyekehi, said the workshop was part of the capacity building for its personnel across the state.

He said the two-day training was organised by Kogi state office of the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) in collaboration with the Center for Ethics and Self Value Orientation (CESVO).

Onyekehi, who doubles as the special adviser to the governor on Special Projects, commended CESVO team for their professional delivery, while urging the participants to reflect the acquired knowledge in their official duties, considering the sensitivity of the SIP.

The focal person stated that the training which focused on ethical conducts of public officials would curb corruption, ensure transparency and accountability for optimum productivity of the workers.

He added that it would enable the participants to be informative and educating, adding that it would reshape the mindset of NSIP officials for effective management of the programmes.

Onyekehi highlighted the recent feats by Kogi SIP office under his leadership as the focal person, describing his achievements as unprecedented.

He commended Governor Yahaya Bello, for providing a conducive working environment for effective service delivery.

“Kogi SIP was earlier rated as one of the 12 most organised and ethically responsible among NSIP states in Nigeria.

”Presently, Kogi NSIP under my supervision is rated as the best NSIP state office in Nigeria by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development as well as forum of media group during the ministry’s one year anniversary,” he said.

He noted that the achievements would not have been possible without the efforts and commitments of the entire management and staff of Kogi NSIP.
