Kogi speaker sympathises with Kastina Assembly over fire incident

The speaker of the Kogi state House of Assembly, Matthew Kolawole, has expressed sympathy with the people and government of Katsina state over the recent fire outbreak which razed its House of Assembly.

This was contained in a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Femi Olugbemi, in Lokoja Friday.

According to the statement, the speaker was shocked with the news of how devastating the just- renovated chamber has become and commiserated with the management and staff of the Assembly on the incident might have brought upon them.

“It is on this note, I wish on behalf of my family, the people of Kabba/Bunu state constituency, all the members of the 7th Assembly, management and staff of the Kogi state House of Assembly commiserate with the people and government of Katsina state, members, management and staff of the Katsina state House of Assembly over the recent fire outbreak that burnt their chamber,” the statement read in part.

He prayed that “God will not allow such to happen again and He will continue to protect and safeguard them from evil.”
