Kogi Speaker urges Nigerians to pray for their leaders

The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole has admonished Nigerians to always pray and support leaders in authority to enable them deliver the desired dividends of democracy to the people.

Prince Kolawole gave the charge on Wednesday in Kabba the headquarters of Kabba-Bunu local government area of the state during the New Year get together organised by the Speaker for stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Speaker, who described leadership at all level as burden, said it is imperative and necessary for citizens to pray for the leaders to enable them fulfill their promises.

He pointed out that in 2020, he would continue all his legacy projects to reduce unemployment among youth and women and also to reduce poverty in the constituency.

“I will continue my legacy programmes such as skill acquisition, widow and youth empowerment, sinking of boreholes, free healthcare among others. I promised not to disappoint my people that gave me the mandate” he assured.

One of the chieftains of APC in the district, Engr. Olushola Olumoroti said the significance of the occasion was to appreciate the people for their unalloyed support during the last governorship election that gave APC victory.

He noted that Okun people have benefited immensely from the present administration led by Governor Yahaya Bello, urging the district to support the government to enjoy more dividend of democracy.

Also speaking, the Provost of the College of Education Technical Kabba, Mrs Victoria Jaboro, said the honour bestowed on the speaker at the occasion was borne out of his concern and commitment to the college.
