Kogi: Youth leaders canvass for Bello/Onoja

The African Youth Leaders Roundtable has resolved to mobilise support for Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, and Chief Edward Onoja, for a second term in the forthcoming governorship election on November 16.

The group said it decided to rally support for the incumbent and his deputy to enable them transform the state in the area of infrastructure and human development.

The chairperson of the group Comrade Ben Duntoye stated this in Lokoja Monday while speaking on the need for continuity, stressing that Gov Bello should be encouraged to remain and finish the projects he started.

Duntoye, who is ex- president of the Pan African Youth Union and also National Youth Council president, noted that it is very important for the people to rally round the governor so that he can complete the numerous people-oriented projects presently going on in the state.

The former commissioner in Kwara state also said nomination of the Chief of Staff Chief Edward Onoja, as running mate to Governor Bello is a good sign, saying it has shown that he has what it takes to be deputy governor of the Kogi state.
He pointed out that Onoja has contributed so much to national development and Kogi in particular as a good ambassador of Nigerian youths.

“Since the governor has been tested, trusted and has just another four years to spend in office, it is wiser for the people of the state to vote for him, instead of another experiment with another governorship candidate.
“One good term deserves another. Bello/Onoja candidacy is a welcome development. It is good for the state, women, young people, workers should vote for them because I believe he will perform very well.

“Another four years of Yahaya Bello will bring about consolidation of landmark achievements and greater youth empowerment and youth involvement in decision making progress,” he said.
