Kugbo DRTS reads riot act to truck drivers

Area commander of Directorate of Road Traffic Services (DRTS) popularly known as VIO incharge of Kugbo truck terminal, Mr.
Yakubu Musa Dekina has read the riot act to truck drivers plying the busy Nyanya/ Mararraba road.
He disclosed this to The Blueprint while calling on truck drivers coming into the FCT through Keffi road to comply with the restriction hours of movement between 6 am to 10 am while plying the other lane between 3pm to 9 pm.
Dekina stressed the commitment of the command to ensure traffic rules and regulations in the FCT were obeyed at all time and noted that the command carried out vehicle inspection in addition to checking of vehicle particulars along the ever busy road.
He appealed to motoring public to cultivate the culture of maintenance with a view to correct defects in their vehicles just as he warned that the command had put in place measures against traffic violations.
The Kugbo VIO head emphasized that the restriction measures was to tackle traffic snarl occurring along the Nyanya axis due to the influx of vehicles slowing down traffic during the peak hours as well as to prevent trucks overrunning the smaller vehicles.
He commended the FCT director of DRTS Aliyu Bodinga for the creation of the truck terminal command and noted that the act had in no small measure reduced rate of accidents and loss of lives along the busy road.
The VIO officer appealed to motorists to always cooperate with patrol officers even as he enumerated challenges along the road to include attack by angry mobs, resistance of arrest as well as lack of cooperation from some security agents among others
