Kuje boss charges corps members to be hardworking

Chairman of Kuje Area Council, Ishaku Shaban Tete, has urged members of the National Youth Corps Service (NYSC) to be diligent and innovative.
He said this while hosting corps members at a forum held at the council’s conference hall in Kuje.
The chairman urged those of them serving at the council to take up the challenge of initiating projects that could meet the infrastructural needs of the people living in rural communities.
He pledged to provide the necessary support to corps members who would take up such projects.
He assured the corps members that their welfare is of utmost importance to the council, stating that the council was working towards addressing both security and facility challenges affecting those living at the corpers’ lodge.
On his part, the Local Government Inspector of the Kuje Liason office, Mr Elisha Zira Dia thanked the chairman for this laudable gesture, stating that it is the first of its king to be held by the council.
Mr Zira Dia also commended the council for being consistent in the payment of corps members’ allowances.
According to him, “about 300 corpers posted to Kuje Area Council, of which 156 are serving at the council’s secretariat.”
He noted that the Area Council Chairman “has engaged some these corps members to teach in schools where they can be active and useful”.
