Kuje: Boss Mustapha commissions Go-International event centre

The Secretary to the Government of the Federal (SGF), Boss Mustapha, Saturday, dedicated the conference and event centre of Go-International School of Mission, Discipleship and Leadership in Kuje, FCT, Abuja.

Commissioning the centre, the SGF said, naturally due to his present schedules within the week, it would have been difficult for him to come out for any event, but however, he said Go-International, like the children of Issachar in 1Chronicles 12:32, understood the time and knew what ought to be done, hence the commissioning of the mission centre is critical at such a time as this.

He noted that the demographic change since the challenges of COVID-19 in 2019,  with its attendant socio-economic hiccups, had awaken those who have understanding to seek new directions for survival in missions activities, saying: “Our paradigm shift in ensuring we do not depend entirely on donors is one of these ways.”

Boss Mustapha, who is also the board chairman of Go-International, said as a ministry that knows the time, it’s no longer time to sit on the fence and ask the same people all the time for support.

“We have been in the field of Go-International, started in Koma, Adamawa State, since in 1983, and this length of time had  helped us to pass through good and difficult times. I comment all our General Council members, the income generation committee which stood up to encourage the project, and those who supported to it reality.”

He stressed that what makes the dedication of the hall important is the fact that, “it makes the beginning of a new era for us in Go-International. First, this will lessen our dependency on individuals and churches who themselves are no longer finding it easy to raise financial support for mission.”

Earlier, in his welcome remarks, the Executive Director of Go-International, Gabriel L. Barau, appreciated the teaming support of the board members, staff and churches.

He said Go-International’s work and workers were being supported by Christians from all denominations and walks of life, through prayers, creating awareness for the ministry and raising financial, material and human resources for the actualisation of the ministry’s vision and goals.

Those supports include church planting and evangelism, medical missions, holistic missions through rural empowerment, peace building and conflict resolution, advocacy and community synergy building.
