Kuje chair flags off livestock vaccination

Chairman of Kuje area council, Alhaji Abdullahi Suleiman Sabo has called on herders to get their livestock vaccinated.

 He made the call while flagging off livestock vaccination exercise against diseases in Kuje.

Represented by the vice chairman, Shem Kwasu, he said the present administration considers agriculture as something at the heart of its agenda for development which is the main stay of the people of Kuje.

Sabo stated that for better and healthy production of livestock for human consumption, the programme would not have come at a better time than now and it will do everything possible to ensure a healthy production chain.

Head of department of agriculture in the council, Dr Godwin Abbah, stated that the exercise is aimed at treating livestock in the council for consumption.

Abbah stated that about 5,000 livestock are targeted for the exercise.

He advised headers to report any outbreak they notice in their animals to the veterinary officers in the council.
