Kuje council chair commends INEC, pledges support

Chairman, Kuje area council, Alhaji Abdullahi Galadima has pledged support and cooperation towards the activities of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Galadima made this known during a one day stakeholder’s sensitization meeting at the Kuje Town hall.
He commended the efforts of the commission, saying that it is the registration and collection of Permanent Voters Card (PVC) that will guarantee the exercise of the people’s franchise.
He called on stakeholders to bring to bear their fears and the way forward for a peaceful coexistence of the people of Kuje.
Resident Electoral commissioner (FCT), Alhaji Yahaya Bello, in his remarks stated that the sensitization programme is to intimate stakeholders that the Continues Voter’s Registration (CVR) is still ongoing and it will elapse on the 17th August, 2018 while collections of PVC will continue untill a week to the general elections in 2019.
He said the team was in Kuje on a familiarization visit to rob minds on how the exercise can benefit the people in the interior villages.
Bello revealed that there are about 18,893 uncollected PVCs in INEC office, Kuje as some of the commission’s major challenges are the terrain of the communities and cooperation from the people.
He however, said that people living with disabilities are taken cognizance of as they are given special attention.
The meeting witnessed questions and answers as suggestions were made for better service delivery
